Placing soldiers along the frontiers to protect a territory is definitely more useful than only building walls and expecting everyone to respect it. however, it might be better to keep the surprise factor and hire ninjas as the protectors of a land, as they can be completely hidden from distracted and greedy enemies to only attack in the exact moment. plan your ninja defense and tell them exact where to wait for probable incursions, using the mouse and all the strategic knowledge contained in the brain to make sure no one will get past them and destroy the most important tower of this little empire.
