Adding units adds mana, 5000000 upgrade points, upgrading gives you more. if you don't have enough mana to summon simply upgrade the mana by hitting r or the blue round thing. you can buy all upgrades before the first mission. no special reload time - you can make it rain arrows by hitting the space key. the game is big so let it load.
