Match and spell is a mix of 2 game concepts: block collapse and word formation. first you must click groups of similar and adjacent blocks. under the destroyed blocks you will find letters. next you can select any 3 or more letters appearing anywhere on the board to form a meaningful word. the word formed by you will be shown on the panel above the board. you can click the accept button to also let the letter blocks collapse.
